The improvements for webEdition Version 3.2 foucs on the production and care of accessible or "barrier-free" Web Internet site contents.

The Standard Version of webEdition 3.2 adds the following features:

-The webEdition tags (we:tags) can now generate valid XHTML code

- Version 3.2 integrates services to check the validity and/or the accessibility of web sites in accordance with the rules of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

webEditions WYSIWYG editor has been updated to include the following features for screen readers:

- extended language settings

- an acronym editor to expand abbreviations

- table and cell summaries that impart information about the structure of tabular data that would otherwise be lacking in voice output

Enhancements have also been made to the graphical user interface (GUI) of the Version 3.2, which offer references and tips regarding the administration and the optimization of accessible sites.

The barrier-free framework also means that the contents of web sites can now easily be made accessible for alternative media such as PDAs, handhelds and cell phones so that web sites using the webEdition CMS can be presented to a broader public audience.
The inclusion of RSS feeds has also been simplified: with the we:tags introduced in Version 3.2, users can automatically pull the contents of XML documents, such as RSS news feeds, directly to their own web page.
